Roots of Change

"Roots of Change" is a multi-pronged community development program designed to strengthen long-term well-being in a pilot rural cluster near Gbako Local Government Area. It will support adolescent girls and young women through a mentorship and scholarship program, ensuring they stay in school and gain life skills training in areas like menstrual hygiene, digital literacy, and small businesses. A mobile health outreach team will also visit the community once a month to provide basic checkups, vaccinations, and maternal health support. Finally, a “Village Futures” cooperative will be launched to offer microgrants and business coaching to women-led households aiming to start income-generating activities. This initiative focuses on dignity, opportunity, and unlocking local potential.
